Asset Management

Asset Management consists in the development  a  systematic  process for road  maintenance, improvement and management of road assets  which combines principles of engineering with business practices and economic rationales.
It is a process which, through the application of appropriate tools, aims to ensure the sustainable and effective management of road networks. It is  based on a more flexible and  organised  decision-making process tailored to reduce costs and improve the efficiency and quality of the services provided.

ANAS International Enterprise has developed methods to estimate the remaining useful life of the assets, basing on an in-depth assessment of the critical parameters. This analysis allows not only to  determine critical intervals for maintenance, but also to improve the quality of the assets and thus their operational efficiency.

Our assistance – which is tailored to the Client’s real needs – avails of the application of innovative technical solutions, and includes the development of new software, which can be customised thanks to the experience of our parent company and of the Experimental Road Centre at Cesano.

The ANAS way to bridge management brochure illustrates ANAS International Enterprise’s asset management philosophy.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control

Implementing a quality system for building and maintaining roads is a crucial aspect for ensuring travel safety and comfort for the road system as a whole, while at the same time allowing the optimisation of the available resources through targeted planning.

The system is based on the determination of specific performance indicators, based on which the activities are monitored, any problems are highlighted and the corrective and preventive measures are implemented, to achieve continuous improvement.

Road surface quality systems apply state-of-the-art technology to assess road conditions and contractor performance, and to plan maintenance actions. A particularly useful tool are the objectively and quantitatively determined quality indicators that can also be applied to contractors.

Contractor assessment by means of objective and quantitative quality indicators can also be introduced in road construction and maintenance contracts.

The quality system proposed by ANAS provides for laboratory tests to check the properties of the materials used, inspections of the entire supplier chain, to control the contractors, and high-performance measurements of the road surface.

The measurements are entered in a dedicated database, which then calculated the quality indicators.

Our services are targeted to:

    1. define a HQSE and relevant procedures ensuring an effective  organization of the tasks;
    2. guarantee work of art performances complying with contract prescriptions
    3. check construction materials and approve their use in compliance with the technical contract prescriptions;
    4. update both the general and the detail time schedule of works, report non conformity and propose corrections;
    5. prepare all the necessary accounting activities to guarantee a correct bookkeeping
    6. identify the necessary interventions to remove design or construction imperfections or to improve the quality of works.
    7. to provide assistance (when required) for testing activities

Our organisation operates in conformity with the standards identified by the Company, to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of our services and, ultimately, full customer satisfaction.

Thanks to specific performance indicators, we can analyse and monitor the activities involved and highlight any problems, implementing the necessary corrective and preventive actions for ensuring continuous improvement.

ANAS International Enterprise is currently engaged in:

  1. work supervision of the eastern lot of the East-West motorway in Algeria;

Design

Thanks to the experience of the parent company, Anas International Enterprise can develop technically demanding designs as well as  multidisciplinary projects that ensure the integration of each infrastructure within its environment.

The 80-year experience of the parent company as operator of the Italian road network,  provides Anas International Enterprise with a unique expertise in designing roads in  different and complex hydrogeological and morphological  conditions and in handling and solving a huge range of engineering problems (design restrictions, complex viaducts/bridges, tunnelling),

Furthermore, the experience acquired in the management of road networks led to the development of cutting-edge ITS projects (cf. the section on RTM). The engineering services delivered by Anas International Enterprise cover the whole design cycle, from preliminary and detail design to feasibility and environmental impact studies.

The organisation and quality of our design deliverables are coherent with ISO 9001 standards.
Anas International Enterprise has developed:

  1. final designs for 3000 km of roads in Colombia, under concession arrangements;
  2. final design of 13 bridges in Colombia;
  3. Design control of 1200 Km of Roads in Libya;
  4. Feasibility Study and Design for economic and financial structuring for 1200 km of freeway in Iran;
  5. Design control of 20 km of roads in Algeria
