Argentina

The province of Santa Fe is a central region of Argentina, located in one of the most fertile and dynamic areas of the country, bounded to the East by the Rio Paranà valley, comprising a number of islands and waterways and considered one of the most biodiverse sites in the country. Against this backdrop, building an efficient and ecologically sound road network is a key objective for the province of Santa Fe’, which occupies an important position in the country’s economy thanks to its significant industrial, farming and animal husbandry activities, besides being a major hub for agrifood, petrochemical and motor vehicle exports.

Development and implementation of a quality system for road pavement construction and maintenance.

The quality system to be developed by Anas International Enterprise will concern 4,000 km of paved roads and about 8,000 km of roads scheduled for surfacing within 2025.
Following the preparation of a quality manual, the project provides for the definition of a check-list to ensure the consistent quality of the pavement, throughout all the relevant phases, and the subsequent data collection and processing, by means of an ad hoc software.

The software, and key factors for defining the quality standard, will be customised to the needs of each client.
To ensure high levels of performance, Anas International Enterprise is engaged in opening a local branch staffed with several of the professionals who have contributed to the success of the QA/QC project in Qatar, besides experts from our Experimental Research facility based in Cesano, to ensure the application of a model that has been proven to be effective.

Georgia

Feasibility study and detailed design of the Tbilisi bypass (85 km), as part of the infrastructure development plan.
The contract, under a call for tenders launched in July 2016, by the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, and financed by the Asian Development Bank, has been awarded to a temporary grouping of companies headed by AIE and including IRD Engineering S.r.l. and Gestione Progetti Ingegneria S.r.l.
The contract provides for the study and design of a new motorway, 85 km long, within the framework of Georgia’s infrastructure development plan.
In particular, the route comprises two sections: Zhinvali – Natakhtari (30 km) and Natakhtari – Rustavi (55 km). Phase one of the project features the preparation of a technical, environmental, economic and financial feasibility study, while phase two will consist of the detailed design of the motorway.
In this regard, Anas International has opened a branch in Tbilisi, both to optimise the performance of the contract and strengthen our presence in the Caucasus region, which is of great interest for the development of the north-south trade route connecting Moscow and the Persian Gulf.

Greece

Surveying the road pavement conditions of the Egnatia Motorway.

The contract, signed with the Hellenic Asset Development Fund, concerns pavement surveying activities on about 1,900 km of roads, including the Egnatia Motorway and another three vertical roads connecting important cities on the mainland of Greece.
The Egnatia Motorway crosses Greece from west to east, from the port city of Igoumenitsa to the Turkish border, and is part of the European route E90, the A-class west-east European route extending from Lisbon, in Portugal, in the west, to the Turkish-Iraqi border in the east. The Hellenic Asset Development Fund, endorsing with Anas the importance of ensuring safe and efficient conditions for road users, has selected Anas International Enterprise as its engineering expert and advisor, to survey the bearing capacity and longitudinal regularity of the entire Egnatia Motorway, and analyse the ensuing results.
The surveys will be carried out by means of a TSD (Traffic Speed Deflectometer), a major technological success story of Anas, for monitoring the quality of road superstructures. Thanks to our TSD, it will be possible to measure the bearing capacity and longitudinal regularity of road pavements, continuously and at average traffic speed (40-80 km/h), to avoid disrupting ordinary traffic. The survey shall be carried out by measuring the bearing capacity in real loading conditions, i.e. by applying a load of 13 tonnes, stresses and deflects the pavement to evaluate the structural characteristics of the road superstructure.
